Single Adult Ministries Schedule of Events


   

    The purpose of SAM is to provide the tools to support single adults
as they grow through educational development, spiritual discovery
and social fellowship. All are welcomed.

All Monday Events, unless otherwise stated, begin in the Christian Life Center (CLC)       
Gathering 7:00, Announcements 7:15, Class 7:30

Babysitting is available for Monday Nights!Toddlers through age 12 – cost is $2/child.

Wednesdays through May 14th, 5:30 – 6:30, WNAC- Wednesday Night at Church,  dinner $6 adult- $3 children ...Open to all.  There is a wide choice of classes for adults and children following dinner. 

Friday, April 18:  Bowling at Village Lanes, Castle Shannon.  Join SAM members for socializing and exercise at 9 pm.  All skill levels welcome or come to just cheer people on!  Sign up Monday night or call Paula @ 724-745-1426.  Pick up directions at SAM’s front desk

Monday, April 21: Fish Bowl night

April 25-27:  Spring Retreat at Jumonville... "Prayer Walking”.  Don’t miss this chance to get away and regroup, renew, and fellowship.  Cost is $90 and includes 2 nights lodging and 4 meals, classes, free time and fun!  It’s a wonderful time to get to know others.  We all need time apart from our hectic lives to reconnect and this is a true mountaintop experience. Scholarship help is available, so everyone can go!  We’ll carpool from church Friday evening and have get acquainted time on arrival.  Saturday begins with breakfast, followed by prayer walking, lunch, prayer hike, and free time.  After dinner, we’ll have a candlelight service at the cross, followed by a campfire.  Sunday morning breakfast is followed by communion.  We’ll return by 1 pm.  Sign up Mondays or call or email Denise.

Concert alert: the Ambridge Steel Drum Band will be at CUMC on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.  Sit together with fellow singles.  Contact Susan Sotak for details.   

May 19 - SAM Spring Dinner and Dance.  Appetizers at 6:30.  Dinner at 7:00 p.m. Cost $15 for dinner and dance, $6 for dance only.  Contact Cristin Kissinger.  Cristin will help you get ready for the Spring Dance with free lessons at SAM on Monday May 5 and May 12.   

May 24: Bike Hike at Cedar Creek Park, Belle Vernon, bike trail. 10 am.  Bring your bike or rent one at the park. $4 hour.  Another option is to walk the trail along the Youghiogheny River.  Bring a lunch to picnic by the river.  This is a family friendly event.  Call Chuck Lutz at (412) 833-0733 or sign up on Monday nights. 

Annual SAM Memorial Day Picnic, Monday, May 26 from 2-7 p.m. at South Park. -
Spreading Oaks Grove.  This will be rain or shine as we have a house as a shelter.  Games,
walking and volleyball will be featured at this family friendly event.  Alumni welcome!  Bring a
covered dish to share and also grills will be available for burgers and hot dogs.  Beverages
provided.  Fees are $4.00 adult +covered dish to share, $3 ages 12-17, $2 ages 6-11, under
6 are free.  Sign up at the Monday SAM meeting or contact Margaret Beamer or Denise Siwik. 

Save the Date- May 31 - Wild Things Baseball - Come see the Washington Wild Things
play at Consol Energy Park, One Washington Federal Way, near the Washington Crown Center
Mall.  Sign up at Monday SAM meetings.  $6.00 per person.  Carpooling available.

MONDAY NIGHT SNACKS
To make the social time at the end of the classes more enjoyable, we ask everyone to
consider bringing in a snack to share.  Please put any items that you bring in the kitchen with your name on any dish that needs to be returned. Bring your special treat and snacks –
And we can always use pop.

We also need help with cleanup at the end of the night
