Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle Group-is a group for high school athletes. Youth are encouraged to come to learn how faith can positively impact life and participation in sports. A  sports breakfast honoring senior Christian Athletes of the Year is held each spring. Tony Reda & Mrs. O. leaders. Every Sunday beginning November 4, 11:00 a.m. D102, (Across from the CLC).   

Junior High Sunday School—Junior Highs study the basics of our faith while developing friendships across school district lines. Heather Perinis, teacher. 11:00 a.m., Youth Center.  

Sr. High C.B.S. (Care, Bible, and Service)  Students meet in a small group setting to discuss life issues and the impact of modern culture on their faith. Contact  Mrs. O x23. 11:00 a.m., B113.  

Youth Rallies-Youth-focused worship experiences featuring exciting contemporary music, youth dramas and dynamic speakers. 11:00 a.m., Youth Center, Quarterly.  

      Youth Fellowship Groups-provide a fun atmosphere with a serious purpose. Teens learn, wrestle with issues, and build strong friendships as they meet weekly on Sunday evenings in the Youth Center.       Chapel Choir–Our young adult choir is open to all 7-12 graders and participates in the 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning worship service and travels on a summer tour. Contact Linda Williams x21. Rehearsals Sundays 6:00-7:00 p.m., G104.

Tuesdays

Youth Recreation-Supervised recreation time in the CLC (Gym) and occasional field trips for grades 7-12; led by Josh Elders (412-860-9320) the “game guy”. Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m., CLC.

Wednesdays

Confirmation Class A weekly experience for eighth graders that leads to being confirmed, which includes trips and retreats. A High School confirmation class meets one Sunday per month January through May. Contact Peggy Osborne x23.

Additional Youth Opportunities 

Chrysalis-An outstanding conference with opportunity for spiritual growth open to senior high youth.  Contact Mrs. O. x23 or Heidi Varner (412-833-2944). Boys’ and girls’ flights are both January 29, 20, 21, 2008. 

Covenant Groups-for teens to spend an hour a week to focus on their journey of faith with like-minded youth. Several groups meet each week. Contact Mrs. Osborne x23. 

Drama Team-presents an annual youth dinner theater and short dramas in youth rallies. There are opportunities throughout the year for involvement. Contact Gregg Stierheim x54. 

Praise Band-provides music for Youth Rallies. Contact Gregg Stierheim x54.  

Youth Mission-Jr. High and Sr. High youth participate in yearly work camps. An international mission trip is conducted every four years.  Local mission opportunities include an inner-city Vacation Bible School, a carnival for young children, trips to a feeding program and a “Senior” prom for older adults. Youth Council-Youth, parents and advisors meet together to help make decisions about the direction of the youth program at Christ Church. Contact Gregg Stierheim x54.
