Adult
Opportunities:
Bible Study Leader:
Lead weekly small group Bible
study. Act 33-34 clearances required.
Confirmation Class Mentor:
Be a mentor to a confirmand
(eighth grader). Meet one-on-one periodically with confirmand
during January through May. Volunteers are needed to have a
strong faith commitment and a love of youth. Church security
clearances required.
Covenant Group
Leader:
Facilitate
youth covenant group consisting of about 5 – 8 youth in grades
9 through 12. The covenant group is designed to help youth
grow spiritually as they commit to observing spiritual
disciplines. Act 33-34 clearances are required and membership
in an adult discipleship group is preferred.
Driver:
Transport youth
(grades through 12) to and from group activities. Use either
your personal car or a church van. Act 33-34 clearances
required.
FCA Planning Team:
The Christ Church Fellowship of
Christian Athletes is committed to presenting the gospel of
Jesus Christ to students using sports and athletes as a
vehicle; assisting youth in their faith journey; and providing
opportunities for sports competition in a wholesome
atmosphere.(Act 33-34 clearances required). FCA volunteers are
needed in a variety of capacities including the following:
1.
Sports officials to officiate FCA tournaments including
(but not limited to) basketball, volleyball and hockey.
2.
Tournament organizers to assist with registration,
t-shirt distribution and logistics.
3.
Event planners, including FCA rallies and the annual
Sports Breakfast.
4.
Huddle Group leaders committed to meeting with youth on
a weekly basis for faith development and growth.
5.
Recreational assistant. Help oversee the Jr. High
and/or Sr. High Sports Nights (Tuesday 5-6:30 & 6:30–8) in the
Christian Life Center.
6.
Planning team members who oversee the entire FCA and
recreational ministry at Christ Church.
Fundraising
Volunteer:
Assist youth with planning and
conducting fundraising projects throughout the year to raise
money for mission projects. Some fundraising projects may be
ongoing, such as Sunday brunches and sale of Giant Eagle
certificates.
High School & Jr.
High Sunday School Teacher:
Prepare and teach one session
of Sunday School each Sunday from September into June. Junior
high level is grades 7-8; senior High level is grades 9-12.
(Act 33-34 clearances required)
Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group Advisor:
Be an advisor to junior high
(grades 7-8) or senior high (grades 9 through 12). Leading
small groups in discussion, supervising recreational
activities, mentoring youth and serving as a positive
Christian role model. (Act 33-34 clearances required)
Shopper:
Purchase snacks and craft supplies before youth retreats.
Shopping lists and money provided.
Youth Coordinating
Council:
Youth Coordinating Council supports Christ Church Youth
Ministry in a variety of ways including, but not limited to,
advising the Director of Youth Ministries, fundraising for
summer trips and mission projects, recruiting Youth ministry
volunteers, and serving as an advocating and supporting entity
for individual youth and for the various youth groups within
the church.
Youth Library
Coordinator:
Help maintain a library addressing interests and needs of
youth (grades 7-12).
Adult and Youth Opportunities
Drama Team:
Assist youth drama
director in preparing dramas for youth rallies and working
with the youth drama team to present a yearly dinner theatre.
Fellowship of
Christian Athletes:
The Christ Church Fellowship of

Youth Group Participants
New Hope Vacation
Bible School Coordinator:
Assist youth (grades 7-12) with
planning and conducting a week-long vacation Bible School for children (ages 4-12)
at New Hope UM Church (North Side).
PRIME TIME / Child
Care Carnival Volunteer:
Assist youth (grades 7-12) with
planning and hosting this mission project, a carnival for
Prime and another for Child Care.
