Altar
Guild:
The Altar Guild is comprised of
5 sub-committees whose members are responsible for the
following:
Prepare and clean-up Communion at various times:
Prepare and clean-up Communion at the designated time and in
the designated manner for each particular Communion service.
Volunteers help approximately 6 times a year. (Saturday night,
Sunday Morning, Sunday night, Wednesday Night, Annual Events)
Communion Linens:
Wash and iron
Communion linens. Volunteers are assigned by months. Work
is done at home.
Chancel:
Dust, vacuum
and straighten the chancel four times per year. Work may be
done anytime on Thursdays or Fridays, in addition to
Saturday mornings. Cleaning of Altar Area.
Decorating the
Sanctuary: Decorate
the Sanctuary for Easter, Pentecost, Thanksgiving, and
Christmas. Work is accomplished as a committee.
Wedding Candles:
Set-up wedding candles the day of the rehearsal. After the
wedding, go to the sacristy to re-file candles and clean
candle followers. Followers may be cleaned at home or church.
Volunteers help approximately six times per year.

Weekly Altar flowers:
Send bill to members who chose to order flowers for Altar
Sanctuary Garden:
Tend to live flowers
along windows as needed
Vestments: Take ministers robes
to cleaners as needed
Concert Manager:
Someone to
help with concert details approximately 3 or 4 times per
year. Help organize sanctuary set-up for final rehearsal and
concert, check on program and inserts, arrange for photos to
be taken, consult with sound technician, etc.
Costume Maker:
Volunteers
are needed to make costumes for the children’s musical.
Drama Team:
People who enjoy
amateur acting and have a desire to serve God occasionally
through dramas during “Sunday Night” worship. Experience is
not required. Availability of roles varies.
Dance Choir
Director:
Leads a liturgical dance class, currently made up of
school-age girls approximately 3 Wednesdays a month from
5:15-6:15 from September to May. The director is a member of
the Music Committee. The dance choir dances in worship
services occasionally; and the director will need to arrange
for photographers for special programs/events as well as
publicity and any necessary instrumentalists. The minister of
Music and organist are available to assist with the selection
of music to dance to in worship.
God's Grace
Ensemble Assistant:
Assists the dance choir
director in leading rehearsals approximately 3 times per month
on Wednesday evenings, Sept-May 5:15 –6:15 p.m.
Music and Stage
Crew: Help
with the change-over between the set-up for Sunday Night and
the set-up for Sunday evening concerts
Music Librarian
Assistant:
Persons who enjoy reading through different types of music,
can sort music by text, season and voicing for purposes of
setting up reference file. Other tasks might include typing,
organizing, setting up card files, entering data in music data
base and other such duties.
Music Office
Assistant:
Persons who enjoy reading through different types of music,
can sort music by text, season and voicing for purposes of
setting up reference file. Other tasks might include typing,
organizing, setting up card files, entering data in music data
base and other such duties.
Saturday Worship
Assistant:
Assistant helps with Scripture reading, Communion serving
during Saturday evening Worship.
Taize Service:
Maintains
Taize candles between monthly services. Work is done at the
church and is coordinated by the committee chairperson.
Instrumental Arts
Carillon Choir (handbells):
Five octaves
of Handbells, rehearse on Sunday evening and perform 5-6 times
a year during the Sunday morning worship service.
Pianist/Accompanist
(Children's): Accompany the Children's
Choirs
Taize Musicians:
Experienced
instrumentalists to rehearse 1 hour before Taizé service and
play for service (music will be distributed 7-10 days prior to
service.) Instrumentalists needed: keyboard, violin, flute,
recorder, clarinet, guitar.
Vocal Arts
Adult Choir Guild
Chancel Choir
(adult): For
those who want a permanent place to sit on Sunday mornings,
can carry light notes for short distances and never want to
worry about what to wear. Singers are not auditioned, but are
asked to dedicate themselves to service by singing for the
Glory of God. Open to men and women.
Chapel Choir
(youth): For
grades seven through high school. Sing for regular Sunday
service at 9:30 a.m. In addition to other special times.
Tours offered to various parts of the country. No auditions.
Chapel Choir
Assistant:
Assistants at rehearsals and/or on Sunday mornings with
attendance, handing out music, Sunday breakfast, discipline
robes (2 ˝ hours per week) Chaperones for special events and
Choir Tour (5 days per year plus special events) Providing
occasional snacks for rehearsals. People to help publicize
concerts and other events (several hours 2-3 times per year).
Help with transportation for special activities (varies).
People with sewing skills to help with robe repair (varies).
Help with finding and coordinating choir tour sites, tour
recreational activities, etc.(2 hours per week, Feb. and
March). Time Commitment: Sunday evening
rehearsals – 6:00 p.m. Sunday morning service
9:30 a.m.
Children's Choir
Assistant:
Assists the choir director with instructional and/or
discipline matters during rehearsals (approximately once a
week) from September to May. Musical experience is helpful,
but by no means necessary.Meets Wednesdays: 4:00-5:15 p.m.
Children's Choir
Director:
Leads rehearsals approximately once a week from September to
May. Plans and selects choral music and other
musical/devotional activities. Attends two bi-yearly planning
meetings. Assistance is available from the organist/associate
director of music. Meets Wednesdays: 4:00-5:15 p.m.
Folk Choir
(Saturday night):
Folk Choir is a combination of
instrumentalists and vocalists who provide music leadership
for the casual, Saturday night Worship service.
Wesley Singers
(men): Men,
ages 18 - ??? who like to sing. Rehearsals are 1st
and 3rd Thursdays of each month from 6:45 –7:45
p.m. The group sings about once a month for worship or special
events.
