Christ Church Beliefs

   

What are the core beliefs of Christ Church?

§         Jesus is the center and meaning of life.

§         The local church is God’s creation and intent for a sane and stable world.

§         Each believer has one or more spiritual gifts which give added meaning to his/her Christian living and strength the church’s ministry.

§         Forming believers into twenty-first century disciples is our goal.

Christ Church also shares in the traditional emphases of United Methodism:

§         Four sources for determining our direction and values: scripture, tradition, reason, and experience.

§         Openness in theological belief, acknowledging different points of view within the same community of believers.

§         Assurance that God can bring real change in the human heart through grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

§         God endows each person with both dignity & moral responsibility.

§         Faith and good works belong together – a personal relationship with God. leads to involvement in Christian mission in the world.

§         The primacy of Grace: God is proactive in love toward us.

§         Like most other Protestants, we recognize the two sacraments of baptism and communion.

§         Music offers a highly valued means to express our faith and worship.
